Control Room Monitoring Centre Operator & Screening

CPP31318 Certificate III in Security Operations

Control Room Operator allows an unarmed guard to monitor a location via CCTV. Working closely with Security & Emergency Response units, a guard will be involved with the reporting and recording of vital information. Students must hold a current Security Officers Licence in the relevant jurisdiction.

Additional fees for CPP31318 Certificate III in Security Operations may include:

$150.00 administration fee for processing credit transfer application
$135.00 per unit of competency if the student is required to complete additional classroom-based training

The student tuition fees as published are subject to change given individual circumstances at enrolment.

Course fees include face-to-face training and assessment, all your course material and manuals, as well as the printing of your certificate/statement of attainment.

Career Outcomes

The primary role of a Control Room Operator is to support clients, security officers and staff who are working in a large complex. In the event of an emergency the control room operator will liaise with the emergency response units and officers on the ground. Major employers of control room operators are:

  • transport departments
  • casinos
  • shopping centres
  • airports
  • banks

Course Duration

23 days (8:30 am – 4:30 pm) Weekdays – 3 days a week

In addition to meeting the requirements for CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations, completing this training program will contribute towards licensed outcomes in Victoria for a Control Room Operator.
